This amazing adventure takes us to the two opposite bases of the Killer Mountain in the western most part of Himalayas. It offers astonishing contrasts of nature and marvelous views on its southern, northern and eastern faces. The trek takes us through the awe-inspiring views of dense pine forests, crystal clear streams, scenic glaciers and numerous gorgeous peaks.
The journey starts at Gilgit with a jeep ride to Tarishing Village in the Astore Valley. Having first camp at Tarishing we will arrange porters to carry our stuff. A days side trip to the lush green Chumphere Valley with beautiful views of Chongra Peak (7070 m) will be advisable for acclimatization. The venture starts through the flower sprangled Rupal Valley to the green base camp of Nanga Parbat named after famous German mountaineer Herlig Koffer. Cross Bezhin Glacier to the traditional base camp and the cemetry of climbers and Shaigiri.
Getting excellent views of surrounding peaks, we reach Mazeno Glacier to cross the Pass (5377 m). Top of the pass offers excellent bird eye views peaks all around, Descend down to Loiba Meadow and then to Kachal village to go up to Diamer face of Nanga Parbat through pine and birch forest. After having a close view of the massif, we descend down the barren gorge to Karakorum Highway at Buner Das. |
