At an altitude of 3300 meters, Fairy Meadows is the densely forested pine meadow on the north face of Nanga Parbat. Splendid views of Nanga Parbat with Raikot Glacier and forest in its front instigate one to accept the local belief that fairies inhabit here. Eighty kilometers south of Gilgit on Karakorum Highway, a hair rising steep jeep trail takes us from Raikot Bridge to Tato through barren cliff. From here a gentle hike of three hours through dense forest leads to Fairy.

Next day we pass through pine forest and scattered shepherds huts and an excursion will be made to Jiliper Peak (5206 m) and the memorial of German mountaineers who lost their lives in 1937. We will then trek down to road head and board jeep to Gilgit. Thereafter we will visit Hunza Valley with a day in Karimabad and visit Khunjerab Pass.
